My father was a professional pilot, flying for Trans Texas Airlines and for El Paso Natural Gas Company. When I was a young boy, dad would come home from trips with pictures of the places he had traveled to. At a very young age, I became facinated with flying, travel and photography. The picture on the right from 1960, is typical of the photos my dad would take from the airplane he flew as he took executives from El Paso Natural Gas to locations all across the USA. He started flying jets in the 1960s to Europe and Africa and continued bringing home photos he had taken on this trips. By then, I really became interested in geography, getting a pilot's license, and learning more about photography, but I was never interested in flying for a living. I became a private pilot and a life-long student of photography.
I spent a great number of my summer vacations on my grandparent's ranch here in Texas and my wife grew up on a farm. Today as adults, we enjoy the quiet solitude that our farm in Runnels County affords us. I stay busy on the farm and my wife continues to pursue her career in Abilene.
